War Memorial Stadium has announced a new plan to charge $120 per spot for 20 large reserved tailgating spots and for 400 smaller pots in the choicest areas on the golf course for the Little Rock football games. No more all night waits to get the top spots. Reservation rights will carry over year to year, presumably meaning those who get them this year can have them in perpetuity.
UPDATE: People ought to howl about the perpetual guarantee to these sites on a public facility. There ought to be a lottery to draw spots in the tailgating area, period, if demand exceeds supply. Trust us. An entrepreneur will lock up a bunch of these and then resell them for big bucks. Also, how come the giant spaces cost no more than the small spaces?
