Dawn Scott is indeed coming back to Channel 11 (as we told you Friday), and she won't be coming alone. She's pregnant.
Station manager Larry Audas left open how the return of the popular anchor (returning from Seattle with her physician husband now that he's completed a residency) might affect scheduling of current anchors Andy Pearson and Liz Massey, both of whom were on hand for the announcement.
UPDATE: Our media reporter, David Koon, returns from this morning's press conference with these notes:
Dawn Scott (who is very visibly pregnant):
"There was always the possiblity that we'd come back, and then with the baby coming, we were sure."
"I feel like I hit the jackpot coming back here."
"We've had a ball being away, but when it comes to to family things, being here is important."
Took three months of negotiations to get her back (she's still in Seattle)... she'll start "November first-ish," with appearances between now and then to get her reacquainted with viewers.
Andy Pearson and Liz Massey (and the entire KTHV staff) looked on as Scott was introduced by Gen. Mgr. Larry Audus
"Here's what we've got: We've got the best talent in the market, and we've just added to it."
"What we had was the opportunity to bring her back, and we certainly took advantage of that."
On the soon-to-be crowded anchor desk: "We've got two months to iron that out. What's important is, we've got her back and under contract."
