With no way Paron High School can be opened Monday, a Pulaski judge has ruled it can't be closed by the Bryant School District. Never mind state standards. Never mind the controlling school district's expense. Never mind the state board of education's power under the law. We predict the state Supreme Court, given the chance, will take the judge to the woodshed again. But, meanwhile, wow. Count us surprised.
Pitiful schools everywhere take heart. Judge Jay Moody says local parents' wishes trump state law and the state Constitution. Welcome back to the 19th century.
