Little Rock city board member Barbara Graves announced several weeks ago that she is running for mayor, and the law requires her to resign her board seat when she files her candidacy.

At last night’s city board meeting, she formally announced her intention to resign, prompting an official announcement that the city will soon accept applications to fill her seat through the remainder of her term, which expires at the end of 2008. The board will select her replacement after reviewing the applications and conducting interviews.

Any information or speculation about who will apply and/or end up in the seat?
