We note that the governor's schedule for the coming week includes attending the Fitness Inspiration of the Year awards ceremony in Las Vegas. Reckon that means he's going to win the award?
Also on the governor's political schedule in the days ahead is the following, from a South Carolina group's news release:
Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee will headline a celebration of traditional marriage August 3 in Columbia. He will speak during a luncheon at the Clarion Townhouse Hotel honoring South Carolinians who observe golden wedding anniversaries in 2006.
Huckabee led his state in passing a marriage amendment to the Arkansas Constitution in 2004. A similar amendment will be on South Carolina's ballot on November 7, 2006.
SC Attorney General Henry McMaster will welcome attendees on behalf of Palmetto Family Council's SC Marriage Amendment Campaign. Music will be provided by PFC Marriage Amendment Co-Chair Senator Danny Verdin and his family.
Seating is limited for the August 3 luncheon, and reservations are required. All reservations must be made by July 24. Reservation information is available by calling PFC toll free at 866-733-5605.
The nonpartisan event is co-sponsored by First Foundations Inc (FFI) and
Palmetto Family Council, two South Carolina nonprofit organizations active
in promoting traditional family values.
