Halter cleared

Bill Halter's campaign for lt. gov. announced that the state Ethics Commission had dismissed a slew of complaints over Halter's campaign finance reporting. The campaign's release:

Today the Arkansas Ethics Commission unanimously dismissed all 13 ethics complaints (and 154 allegations) made by former Democratoc primary opponent Mike Hathorn against Bill Halter shortly before the May primary election.  The vote for dismissal of all complaints was 4-0 with Commissioner Herschel Cleveland recusing himself from the discussions and votes.

Bill Halter said, “I am very pleased that the Ethics Commission has unanimously ruled in our favor and am happy to move forward and to continue to talk about the things that matter to Arkansans, such as making our schools excellent and building and attracting the better-paying jobs of the 21st Century.  It was unfortunate that these completely unfounded allegations diverted any attention in the earlier primary race.”

Halter also stated, “Finally, I would like to thank the Ethics Commission for its thorough and professional investigation and deliberation on this matter especially in the context of a competitive election.”
