Damn. We've been having trouble on the Internet all day. I wrote a brilliant 500-word essay about the LR Board meeting tonight and now I find it is lost to the digital ages. Short version:
AT&T won, 9-1. Director Joan Adcock and hired gun Scott Trotter stood up for Comcast. Funny. The minority was right. There's no logical reason to let AT&T cherry pick neighborhoods to sell cable TV service under looser terms than those that apply to Comcast except the very simple one: EVERYBODY HATES COMCAST;.
The ordinance approved tonight was fiddled with in an effort to avoid a threatened lawsuit from Comcast. We expect to see legal action before it's all over.
