Former Little Rock city board member Jesse Mason today announced he will run for mayor. (His official announcement event will take place on Thursday.)
Currently the director of cooperative education at UALR, Mason was elected in 1992 to an at-large position on the city board and served as vice mayor. Before that, he was chairman of the city housing authority's board of commissioners.
Mason is the third candidate to enter the race, after Barbara Graves and Bill Walker. Mark Stodola is also expected to join the field.
UPDATE: A commenter on this thread says Stodola will announce his candidacy on Thursday morning.
UPDATE #2: Former Democratic lieutenant governor candidate Drew Pritt just called to say that he is running for mayor, too. He said to expect an official announcement within the next two weeks.
