The state Republican Party today announced that former U.S. Sen. Zell Miller will headline an unspecified event in Arkansas on August 25.
Miller was a Georgia Democrat who switched parties and went on to keynote the Republican National Convention in 2004.

Today’s press release touts that “in 2004, he co-sponsored a proposed Constitutional amendment that, if ratified, would have prohibited government, at all levels, from recognizing any homosexual domestic partnerships.”
Miller concluded, “I’ve got many good friends in Arkansas, including Governor Mike Huckabee and Asa Hutchinson, and I look forward to spending time with individuals that share my conservative views and values.”
