There'll almost certainly be TV debates for the Beebe-Hutchinson gubernatorial race. But does anybody care about the race for lieutenant governor?
You bet they do. The Clinton School of Public Service (Skip Rutherford, prop.) will be extending an invitation shortly for Bill Halter and Jim Holt to meet in a "town meeting" format this fall, date and details subject to negotiation.
Rutherford, who we ran into at a Clinton Library reception for the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies national convention, said the race shouldn't be overlooked because two lieutenant governors -- Jim Guy Tucker and Mike Huckabee -- have become governor in recent years.
Plus, this particular matchup offers a good deal more potential sport than, say, the WR-Kurt Dilday contest.
