Since local bans on cell phones at school have caused some squawks periodically, we thought some might find interesting an effort in New York city to loosen the school phone ban there. One council member suggested allowing phones without text messaging and video capability; prompting others to wonder if you could even obtain such a hopelessly old-fashioned device any more.
Remember: every teenager who takes a cell phone to school is potentially a teenager who could be talking on the phone while driving there. (Not so much a problem in NYC, admittedly.)
