Good advance on Southern Baptist Convention this coming week at which megapastor Ronnie Floyd of Springdale seems the favorite to be elected head of the increasingly conservative group. Note that he’s described as head of churches in a “relatively rural” setting (Springdale and Rogers) and that he says the churches spend more than $2.5 million on missions, just on its own, not through the SBC (a point of convention contention). Wonder if that counts his football team as mission work?

The Sunday Morning News profiles Floyd, too.
