The governor has a shot at national politics, Brummett concludes, and he lists several solid reasons -- communications skills, some progressive policies, religion. Another thing working in his favor is that national reporters won't be around him long enough to see some of his demerits. Brummett mentions a couple of those, too.
Also re Brummett: The Stephens website never got refreshed yesterday. The Saturday stuff is now available, but at the moment, the link on the Brummett column contemplating Jim Holt (Extremist? Or merely scary?) isn't currently working. Maybe it'll get patched by the time you try it.
