We just received a curious press release from the campaign office of Tim Wooldridge, who is running against Bill Halter in the Democratic primary runoff election for lieutenant governor.
Titled "Wooldridge & Hathorn Camps Join Forces," it announced that "the leadership of Mike Hathorn’s campaign has joined Team Wooldridge."
So did Hathorn endorse Wooldridge? The release didn't say, so we called Gary Harpole, consultant to the Wooldridge campaign.
"We haven't done anything official with Mike personally yet," Harpole said. "Mike was with Tim in public in Eureka Springs yesterday, and he's been open about his support for Tim. But as far as an official endorsement, we're still getting our camps together and Mike is taking a well-deserved rest. We have meetings scheduled with Mike at the beginning of next week."

Wooldridge & Hathorn Camps Join Forces
May 26, 2006 – (Little Rock, AR) - State Senator Tim Wooldridge (D) of Paragould, a candidate for Lt. Governor in the June 13th run-off election, announced today that the leadership of Mike Hathorn’s campaign has joined Team Wooldridge.
“I am grateful for the generosity and support of Mike’s team,” Wooldridge said. “He ran a strong campaign, and he had a great organization. I feel that merging his team with ours gives us incredible strength.” Wooldridge and Hathorn were seen together yesterday at the Rural Development Conference in Eureka Springs, where Hathorn was wearing a “Wooldridge for Lt. Governor” sticker.
“We waged a hard fought campaign and I was very impressed with the integrity of the Wooldridge campaign throughout the race. Ultimately, this decision comes down to who is best for Arkansas, and that man is Senator Tim Wooldridge,” said former Hathorn campaign manager Gary Moody. “Senator Wooldridge is the Democratic Party’s best chance in November to defeat Jim Holt and strengthen the party’s entire ticket. He’s the most experienced candidate in this race, and I’m proud to be a part of anything that will help ensure victory for Mike Beebe and all Democrats in General Election.”
“I am very pleased to have Mike’s team on board,” said Wooldridge. “They ran an aggressive, honorable race and we are fortunate to have their support. Mike and I shared much of the same vision for elevating personal income, creating new jobs, improving education, and focusing more attention on issues important to Arkansas seniors. Our combined organizational strength will be a big asset in this election, and I am confident that we will be the nominee on June 14th.”
