You heard it first from an Arkansas Blog reader that Gov. Huckabee was recasting his presidential exploration PAC from the Healthy America to Hope for America PAC, part of an effort to retool himself as more than a single-issue candidate. Stephens Media was among the regional DC journalists invited into his presence in D.C. yesterday. Apparently nobody asked him about his petulant press policy. He did volunteer that he supported Bush's immigration plan -- from which AP drew its lead on his schmoozefest. Quoth the Huckster:
"I don't want to be ghettoized as the only thing I'm wanting to talk about is losing weight and getting healthy," Huckabee said. "To some people that is the only thing of interest to me. Of course, it isn't."
And then there is Huckabee's fundraising strategy, courtesy of the Democrat-Gazette's account:
He said he knows that fundraising will become paramount if he decides to run. He said he had a plan for that.
“I’ve got a map of 7-11 s, a bunch of blue-steel revolvers and ski masks. We’re going to go all over the country and raise money in a very unique way.”
Stop it! You're killing us!
