Developer Bruce Burrow is chafing at the state law that requires signatures from 38 percent of a voting jurisdiction's voters to get a wet-dry proposition on the ballot. He told KAIT in Jonesboro the other day that he intends to sue over the constitutionality of the law, though others have failed before. Jonesboro is already awash in "private clubs" where drinks are served, but an easing of the law would open the door for lots more restaurants with drinks, not to mention potential tenants for Burrow.

We should have added at the first that we happen to agree with Burrow at least as to the unfairness of this law, a legacy of Lu Hardin's tenure in the Senate representing Russellville. But, given Burrow's luck at shaping corporate welfare law to his advantage, he might be better off trying his luck at the legislature, rather than in court.
