KUAR reports on a UA study that says exploration of the Fayetteville shale natural gas reserves in Arkansas could produce 10,000 jobs and $5.5 billion in economic impact by 2008.

Cement ponds for everybody. And if we had a realistic severance tax -- equivalent to Texas or Louisiana, let's say -- everybody could share in the bounty of a resource that, once pulled out of the ground, won't return. Here's a good study on the subject.
