Last week, ZaZa started construction on its second location, a 4,000-square-foot space in the new mixed-use development The Village at Hendrix.

John Beachboard, who co-owns the restaurant with Scott McGehee, said it will be “unlike anything Conway has right now.” In addition to the wood-oven pizza, salad and gelato you’ll find at the Heights location, the Conway outlet will feature a full bar and a juice bar, with 4-foot-tall Italian juice machines for limes and oranges, which will be used to make what Beachboard called the best “fresh squeezed margaritas, madras, mojitos, caipirinhas and cocktails Conway has seen.” Even with an expanded drink menu and its location, Beachboard said that the restaurant will remain “very, very family friendly.”

The target date for the restaurant to open is Sept. 24. A liquor permit for the Heights location is pending, Beachboard said.
