Stunning video debut! Or would be if not lit like outlet-mall knockoff of "found"-footage epics like "Blair Witch."

Such a magnificent voice! Positively Mount Rushmoreian (near-Everestian!) bust!

But you're so much more than nasolabial folds. Take it from Tinseltown - eschew sidelight for soft flat frontlight (not down / not up: nostril level). You're already paying Brian Chilson for god's sake: USE him!

Banish gray, brown and beige forever - to contrast, not wash out with B.G. (on sets / in real life).

Perhaps merest hint of bronzer (at least on camera) where actual sunlight would fall if face ever saw it.

Still, news synopsis and delivery - wonderful! Predict much longer more successful run than "Last Shot with Judge Gunn" and BTW whatever happened to . . . ?

I must say I am impressed with the authentic style of posters who appear on this blog to tell Max of their disagreements with his material. I probably need to brush up on my middle school playground vernacular to understand and communicate in kind.

I'm a big fan of the written word but I'm also a big fan of video because the honest truth is that a big part of our population has been spoiled by a lifetime of TV and therefore just can't be bothered to read much more than Women or Men or Exit.

Reading on the Facebook a bit ago, due to a new ordinance in Houston Women and Men signs on restroom doors will soon be retired and apparently will soon be replaced with neon signs that say ALL PISS

That's what we ought to do when haters try to segregate the laws, just dredge up from your memory ALL SKATE and let them figure it out. I say ALL SKATE to all gay couples who want to be as legally and equally married as mag and I. When it comes to equal pay for equal work I also say ALL SKATE!

Yes yes I loved that ALL SKATE sign at the skating rink next to the Piggly Wiggly when I was growing up because ALL meant ALL and ain't nothing better than ALL.

I'm ALL excited about this new video feature!

FYI, I got one of those illegal robo phone calls for an automated survey on the AG runoff. It ends with a leading question on the stand your ground law.

I think it was a good debut for a new service. You make want to take Norma's advice on production values, because she has been there and seen the best. But I hark back to the days on Arkansas Week on AETN, when Max was always the authoritative figure. Paul Greenberg and Ann Clemmer could not begin to stand up against him. He does not have what you could call a TV voice, but it is distinctive, clear and you always understand what he is saying because of his newspaper training in grammar and syntax. You can diagram his sentences. Don't try that with most TV talking heads.

Max, you're the best thing Arkansas has received from LA besides crawfish. Of course, for better or worse, you're now an Arkie through and through. Go Times!

Personally, I think Max is even better than crawfish. I can see that now on his resumé. "Even better than crawfish!"

Go with Plainjim above. He's nailed this.

Max’s vid debut totally way better than private screening of “Left Behind” Darlenes attended tonight. (Supposedly opening in October, when pigs fly.)

Yes, Razorbabies, we were paid and I get it: producers desperate for real celeb eye candy in sea of troll wannabes.

Nicholas Cage’s cash-flow woes apparently direr than Tinseltown knew, to star in this POS supported by nobody you heard of or will. Outtakes from every cheesy disaster movie ever made, stitched together with creaky-fundy-Christ-y Conform-or-Die crap. Only suspense onscreen? How will participants ever live down participating?

Oh, right. "Forgiveness."

Meanwhile, can't forgive self for blowing Proenza Schouler crop top on this wake.

Plus Max has BEAUTIFUL voice, James de la Plains. Rich, solid, reassuring, Poppa-Bearish: Orson Welles meets Johnny Cash.

But it's VIDEO, not a podcast! Neutrals turn him all cadaverish, MUST be – ready? – left behind.

Norma, I have a question about "Left Behind" that maybe you can answer as a result of your 'private screening'. Years ago, I started reading the first book of the series and had to stop fairly early in the book. One can only stand so much of something that is both fatuous and treacly before laying it aside.

I do recall the airline-pilot protagonist walking through the passenger cabin and finding seats that were occupied only by piles of clothing. This led to a rather raucous conversation with my son about what else might be found in the clothing piles.

Since the saved were obviously naked when raptured, were all earthly accessories and add-ons also left behind? What about dentures or bruxism splints? What if, like me, someone had an artificial hip? What about arterial stents? Then my son wondered what God would do if someone was wearing Depends? Would He place them at the bottom of the pile to save embarrassment to the rapturee? This led me to wonder about feminine hygiene products. Surely God would tuck them discreetly into the rapturee's socks. Wouldn't He?

This also reminds me of an episode of "Six Feet Under". The corpse of the week was that of a man who was killed when he stepped in front of a truck. Seconds before his demise, a naked blow-up doll had come loose from its moorings in the back of a pickup. As the doll wafted up into the sky, the man thought the rapture had begun and was so distracted by the thought that he forgot to look both ways before stepping off the curb.

Any enlightenment on these pressing questions will be appreciated.

In 1968 I saw the unranked Ole Miss Rebels defeat the #3 ranked Tennessee Vols in Jackson Mississippi at a highly anticipated game where Archie Manning stole the day as the Rebel quarterback. Little did I know that Lester McClain who was the Vols' first black player in 1968 was on the field and that his father was 50 years old when he was born and his grandfather was 50 years old when his father was born and that meant that his grandfather had been born into slavery. I just discovered that amazing fact recently. Today I have discovered another amazing fact that relates back to that same time period.

"Each month, Irene Triplett collects $73.13 from the Department of Veterans Affairs, a pension payment for her father’s military service..." HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE IF HER FATHER WAS PAID FOR HIS SERVICE IN THE CIVIL WAR? This article I read gave the amazing details and has lots of pictures.
