City Manager Bruce Moore reported to the Little Rock Board of Directors tonight on the city's response to the Christmas snow storm.
But this is what you need to know. At the current rate of picking up about 100 tons of storm debris a day, it will take another 200 days to clean up the estimated 22,000 tons of tree and other debris created by the storm. Some 1,500 requests for cleanup have been recorded at the city call center.
It's unclear if the city will move to contract to speed up the work, as has happened in some other disasters.
UPDATE: A reader who tuned in says Moore said he'd do some outside contracting if FEMA money came in. What say U.S. Reps. Tom Cotton and Tiny Tim Griffin? Could you get behind some federal spending for local storm cleanup?
