Stephanie Pierce and Cynthia Nourse Thompson, new UA art faculty members, are exhibiting their paintings and printmaking/book art in the Fine Arts Center Gallery and both will gives talks about the work.
Pierce, an assistant professor, attempts with her paintings to “reveal passages of change as light and viewpoints shift over time and the everyday resides in a state of flux,” according to a press release. Thompson, an associate professor, “addresses her own concerns with beauty, desire, vulnerability and imperfection” in her work.
There will be a reception at 5 p.m. Jan. 30. Pierce will give a lecture at 5:30 p.m. in Room 213 of the Fine Arts Building that day. Thompson will give a post-show lecture at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 27, also in Room 213. The exhibition runs through Feb. 23. Read more about the show here.
