UPDATE III: Looks like these last two performances of “Raft of the Medusa” have been resurrected for performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Quapaw United Methodist Church.
UPDATE II: Looks like the Nov. 16-17 performances of “Raft of the Medusa” have been canceled. The Nov. 30 opening of “The Outsiders” is still on schedule, however, according to a statement from The Weekend Theater.
UPDATE: The show must go on! Friday and Saturday’s performances of “Raft of the Medusa” will take place as scheduled, though “seating will be limited to 49 seats due to our ‘risers’ being damaged,” according to a statement from the theater. “No seating will be allowed in the damaged area. This is an opportunity to see a very special, intimate performance of this thought provoking, moving drama.”
Weekend Theater Artistic Director Ralph Hyman said via email that auditions for “Company” have been moved.
“This weekend’s scheduled auditions for ‘Company’ will not be held at The Weekend Theater,” Hyman said. “Instead, they will be held at Quapaw Quarter United Methodist Church, at the corner of 16th and Louisiana streets in downtown Little Rock. Enter at the awning door on 16th Street. Auditions are Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 6:30 p.m.”
On Nov. 7, a car crashed into the 7th Street side of The Weekend Theater. According to the theater’s Facebook, nobody was hurt, but Friday and Saturday’s performances of “Raft of the Medusa” and the auditions for “Company” are up in the air right now.
I’ve contacted folks with the theater and will update this when I know more.
