In what’s surly only the tip of the iceberg of ridiculousness found in his forthcoming memoir “Decision Points,” President Bush says his “all-time low” during his eight years in office was when Kanye West nervously hijacked a Hurricane Katrina telethon to tell the world “George Bush doesn’t care about black people.”

EW’s Ken Tucker has a transcript of an interview between the former president and Matt Lauer that’s to air on Monday, where Lauer calls the president on the obvious: You’re saying an insult was worse than Katrina?

Bush’s not-so convincing response:

“No, and I also make it clear that the misery in Louisiana affected me deeply as well. There’s a lot of tough moments in the book. And it was a disgusting moment, pure and simple.”
