If y’all have never had the pleasure of meeting Sheldon and Joy Sturtevant of Cedar Rock Acres farm, you’re missing out on a lot of fun—and a lot of delicious food. The Sturtevants grow a variety of berries and grapes, and Joy turns a lot of those into a variety of delicious jams and preserves. It’s good stuff, and you can get your hands on some from the Hillcrest Farmers Market.

I had the pleasure of sitting with the Sturtevants at a farm-to-table dinner last year at Scott Heritage Farm, and after a couple of bottles of wine and some tasty food, we were fast friends. This spring, they’re bringing the dinner to their farm in Scotland, and it’s certain to be another great time.

The dinner is May 23, with drinks and appetizers beginning at 3 p.m., followed by a farm tour (with some berry picking). At 5 p.m., dinner is served with everything coming from the farm save for the beef—which they’ve bought from a neighboring farm. Tickets are $50. For more information, call 501-253-3346 or 501-253-7297; or email txredhead13@hotmail.com or marketfarmer@hotmail.com.

Sounds pretty delicious to me! These dinners are a great chance to meet, greet and eat with the people who work so hard to grow our food. Hope to see you all there!
