Interior Secretary Sally Jewell and Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx will tour the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site Tuesday and talk with local people about civil rights, preserving history and the economic boost provided by national parks.

Maybe they could collar U.S. Sen. Tom Cotton, also to be in town tomorrow. He’s been toutingon Twitter  the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary (the reasons for the cabinet secretaries’ visit Tuesday) but offering little constructive to counter Republican obstructionism to adequate funding of the National Park Service. It’s a jewel that some Republicans would like to see given away for private development, never mind adequately maintained
