The item earlier about Marcus Devine’s tax bill prompted a reader to alert me to tax liens filed against another public figure.

Public records show the state filed two claims for past due state income taxes on April 14 against Sen. Jeremy Hutchinson — for  $10,737 and $1,061.

Hutchinson, who practices law in Little Rock, told me by email that he’d made a arrangement for time payment and was current on those payments.

UPDATE: Hutchinson also said originally the lien was filed in error because he’d worked out a payment plan. Indeed, DFA acknowledged this Tuesday  and released the lien filings.
