A couple of threats of school violence reported in Conway.
Conway police said an anonymous threat to “shoot up a Faulkner County schol” was found online about 7:50 a.m. today. Police and sheriff’s deputies checked schools and by 9 a.m. found the poster of the message and the threat “was alleviated.” Police later said a 14-year-old Conway Junior High Student could be charged with first-degree terroristic threatening. He was taken out of class. No weapons were found on him or in his locker. He told police he posted the threat as a dare.
In a separate event over the weekend, KARK reports also that UCA police took into custody a student suspected of making an on-line threat over the weekend and were considering charges. The threat was not believed serious. It was a warning to stay away from campus one day because of an unspecified “event.” An 18-year-old student has been charged with second-degree terroristic threatening and communicating a false alarm. UCA Echo reports.
