Briefly checking in from South Beach, where I’m about to take off on a walking tour of the Art Deco district.
I’ll be checking out from the blog for a couple of weeks. Lindsey, Leslie, Benji, David and co. will be filling in.
Momentous days ahead in Arkansas, if not for me. Lots of gazing at miles of ocean are on my agenda. Back home, a preacher from Florida is going to announce for president in Arkansas. Arkansas cities will demonstrate their resistance to the discriminators in the legislature by attempting to provide a promise of legal equality in city ordinance and employment policy. The state may reveal after three months what it intends to do to urgently address shortcomings in the Little Rock School District.
Not much to report this morning. So I’ll open up a comment line for any and all.
A scan of the Miami Herald turned up one Arkansas item of possible interest.
Retired NBA star Scottie Pippen isn’t in Hamburg anymore.
The Miami Herald reports that Pippen has taken his Fort Lauderdale mansion off the market after trying for five years to sell it, first for $16 million and then $11.8 million. It’s just a vacation home. Pippen lives in Chicago. Item says he bought the spread for $1.3 million in 2000. Surely it’s been improved since then, such as with the basketball court.
