* HIGH-RANKED HIGH SCHOOL: Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts in Hot Springs, the state’s competitive admission residential school, is ranked 8th in the country by Daily Beast in the successor versoin of Newsweek’s high school rankings. It was 13th last year. Haas Hall Academy in Fayetteville was ranked 22d. College admission rates, test scores and college-level course offerings are key criteria.
