Report just in of a robbery in the First Arkansas Bank and Trust on Main Street in Jacksonville.

UPDATE: It’s unclear whether the bank was robbed. But a caller who’s been talking with employees said a man with an axe hit a bank employee in the side of the head and a fight ensued. It’s unclear at this point whether anything was taken before the incident ended. At this moment, no info on the whereabouts of the assailant.

UPDATE: Channel 7 reports that the man apparently was not a robber, but upset (I’ll say) about banking issues when he whacked an employee with an axe handle. The employee is receiving hospital treatment.
